In 1974 Ed Bowen bought an Esso Station in the community of Cookstown. Within 3 years he sold the busy location and started up an exhaust maintenance centre in Alliston.
Alliston Muffler Shop was opened and became the exhaust and shock specialist in the area. In 1980 the name changed to Carline Muffler and the business outgrew the location he leased on Dufferin Street.
1984 brought another change and he relocated to his own building on Victoria Street East. The customer base grew as well as their needs. In 1996 the business changed to your complete automotive maintenance and repair shop.
Ed has built his business based on honesty, sincerity and dedication as an owner, operator and employer. His business has earned many awards within the business world as well as the community. Quality parts and exceptional service earned him well deserved respect from the community, the customers, his long term employees and other automotive operations.
Carline Automotive Services Alliston has five bays to service the majority of vehicles on the road today.

Training has been on going to keep us updated and access to all repair problems via computer programs available ensure correct diagnostics.
Ed Bowen has owned and operated the business for 37 years. His expertise is in the exhaust systems and custom exhaust work on vintage vehicles.

Stan Corey , father of two children and front end technician for Carline Automotive services has been a dedicated employee since 1988.
Don Marsh became employed with Carline in 1995. Also a dedicated family man, Don and his wife have two daughters. His knowledge, his experience of 30 years and the quality of his work, guarantees us that our customers are getting the best workmanship and care done on their vehicles.
Rose Marie Bowen, Ed’s wife and business co-owner, is in the accounting side of the business as well as marketing and advertising, and administration. Her work in the community has been recognized by various organizations and continues with the Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay For Life in Alliston.
